Our focus is on player and personal development, building our Storm Culture, and providing pathways and opportunities for all female hockey players.   Organizational core values include commitments to Attitude, Effort, Respect, and Excellence.

For our recreational players, we field house-level teams at the 8U thru 14U levels which compete in the co-ed Houston Metropolitan Hockey League.    See our General Programs page for information.

For our more advanced players, the HTX Storm 12U Select and 14U Tier 2 teams provide opportunities to play in more all-girls competitive events and environments.  See 14U Tier II and our 12U SELECT pages for more information.

Also new for the upcoming season is the launch of a 16U/19U Team Texas program.  In collaboration with our friends in Dallas, we will offer a tournament team for our high school aged players of all skill levels to continue playing against all-girls competition.

New to Hockey?  We make it FUN and EASY to start your hockey journey.

Storm Rookies is a six-week program to begin learning the basics of ice hockey.   Some skating experience is recommended.  Cost is $120.  All necessary equipment will be provided for skaters who register in advance. USA Hockey registration is required.

The Rookies Program is for all ages (typically 5-12) as an introduction to ice hockey for girls.  Intended as a supplement to your local rink's Learn To Play program, the Rookies program provides extra time on the ice in a coach-led, low-pressure, all-girls setting.

The Program will take place on the following Saturdays 10am - 11am at Ice Skate Memorial City:

  • March 2
  • March 9
  • March 16
  • March 23
  • March 30
  • April 6

Try the HTX Storm

Are you a current ISHL, Aeros, or House player and wondering what this is all about?

Are you in private lessons or Learn to Play and want to see if you're ready to join the HTX Storm Club Practices?  Or a Team?

Are you visiting from out of town, or moving to Houston soon, and want to see what the Girls Hockey scene is all about?

Try a Single-Session practice at no cost!

The Registration "Home" is not currently available.

  • This is NOT intended for "pay as you go" - there is no such thing for the HTX Storm.
  • This is also NOT for "Try Hockey" players - completion of Learn to Play is expected for this session.  We do expect you to have a USA Hockey number to participate in this practice.  We will have other events for our "Try Hockey" level skaters - keep an eye open!

Our 2nd annual Girls Hockey Weekend Celebration and 3v3 Tournament was a great success.  Thank you to the 101 players and families for trusting us with their precious summer time and making the trip to Houston.

We are all growing this together, and Texas girls hockey took another leap forward over these past few days.

The friendships and memories made were priceless, and we loved every minute of it. The smiles, laughs, and hugs were as good as the passes, dekes, saves, and goals.

Thank you to all our volunteers who set up, cleaned up, donated items and their time; thank you to our coaches who continue to develop our girls on and off the ice; and thank you to the Aerodrome Ice Skating Complex and their staff for being incredible hosts again this year.

Our top-class vendors and sponsors were and are amazing, and the weekend wouldn't have been possible without them.

Thank you to Dick's Sporting Goods, Tim Hortons Houston, Hunter Strong Graphic Design, ShutterBooth Houston, Crown Trophy of Spring, and Saint Arnold Brewing Company for your donations above and beyond.  We are proud to partner with you!
